Swilipino is a food and identity project run by Tintin Jonsson, a chef currently based in London who mostly cooks Filipino inspired food through the lens of her dual heritage as a Swedish Filipino. She’s often turning to the cuisine of the southern Philippines where her mom has roots, or fusing Filipino dishes with Swedish nostalgia.
She is also working as a development chef in the east London restaurants My Neighbours the Dumplings, where the main focus lies on cantonese cuisine and dumplings. This has influenced her culinary style and you can often see some form of dumpling on her menus or “Tsinoy” style cooking (the mix between Filipino and Chinese cuisine).
Swilipino has been a part of the rich ESEA community in London since 2019, and built up a base of loyal supporters during that time.
